Oberon Bay

Oberon Bay is just one of many bays and inlets in this National Park, located in Gippsland, Victoria.

Wilson’s Promontory National Park is regarded as one of the most beautiful in Australia. It is a favorite of bush walkers and campers, Oberon bay being one of the most favored destinations because it is only accessible via the walking track and of course by boat. Hikers must carry their own water as none is available at the campsite.

The scenery is magnificent, “The Prom” as it’s affectionately known, abounds with native wild-life and is comprised of many beautiful rain forests, mud flats and stunning vistas of granite boulders, mountains, turquoise waters and white, sandy beaches.

‘The Prom.” has been occupied by indigenous people for over 6,500 years. It was first sighted by George Bass and Mathew Flinders in 1798 and was preserved by the Victorian Government as a National Park in 1898.
