Red Sea – Acrylic by Jan Murphy | Outback Meets Ocean
Iron-rich soil turns water red — a striking acrylic framed in black timber, ready to hang.
Much of the outback of Australia has what is known as red soil because of the high level of iron oxide. When the rains fall and this soil is washed into the oceans or rivers, the waters are turned red.
Acrylics on timber cradle, 2023. In black timber float frame. Ready to hang.
Painting size: 20 × 30 × 2 cm
Framed size: 23 × 33 × 3.5 cm
