🌫️ Moody River – The Gordon River, Tasmania - Oil Painting by Graeme Love
“Moody River” is an oil painting of Tasmania’s Gordon River. A study in tannin-rich waters and rainforest atmosphere.
The Gordon River displays many moods as it descends 570 metres over its 172 klm. course, running east to west under Mt. Hobhouse. A major perennial river in the central highlands of Tasmania, its lower reaches contain cold climate rain forest and many species of rare trees. The water, whilst being fresh and drinkable, is the colour of weak tea, caused by the absorption of tannin from the button grass growing in the catchment area.
Medium: Oil on canvas board
Size: 70 X 56 cms framed and ready to hang.
